Anar Aliyev, DMD

Dr. Anar Aliyev has been in the field of dentistry since 2001, which has developed an extensive background in both general dentistry and orthodontics. He earned his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Azerbaijan Medical University before completing a Master of Science in Orthodontics at Kyrgyzstan State Medical Academy. After practicing internationally for many years, Dr. Aliyev attended the Advanced Standing Program at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine to earn his U.S. dental credentials and continue serving patients in his community.

Growing up in a family of scientists, Dr. Aliyev was surrounded by opportunities to explore his interest in science from an early age. With his parents and brother working as chemists, he developed a strong scientific foundation, but it was his sister's acceptance into dental school that ultimately inspired him to pursue dentistry himself. His career has since taken him around the world, including years practicing general dentistry and orthodontics in Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan before coming to the United States.

Dr. Aliyev enjoys being able to provide comprehensive care under one roof, from general dentistry to orthodontic treatment. He is also passionate about educating patients on how to maintain healthy teeth at home and believes patient education is an important part of achieving lasting oral health. His professional training also includes continuing education in mini implant placement, further expanding his clinical background.

Dr. Aliyev is an active member of the American Dental Association and the Massachusetts Dental Society. Through these professional affiliations, he remains connected to the broader dental community and committed to the standards of his profession.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Aliyev enjoys staying active at the gym, hiking, and spending time with his wife and two daughters. His wife is a teacher, and their older daughter, Sara, attends Tufts University and plans to follow in her father's footsteps by pursuing dentistry, while their younger daughter, Reyhana, is currently in high school. Originally from Azerbaijan and now living with his family in Belmont, Dr. Aliyev is also multilingual, speaking Arabic, Russian, and Turkish in addition to English and his native language.
