Pablo Velastegui, D.M.D.
Dr. Velastegui was born and raised in Ecuador, where his father practiced as a general dentist. In 2006, he moved to New York in order to pursue higher education. Soon after moving to New York, he began working as a sculptor’s assistant under the wing of Master Sculptor Greg Wyatt. For over eleven years, he learned and improved his crafting abilities, which helped contribute immensely to his manual dexterity and visual acuity, both of which are key components of the artistry of dentistry.
Dr. Velastegui graduated from Queens College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and then enrolled in a Master’s Program in Biology with a Microbiology emphasis. He graduated from The University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, where he received his degree of Doctor of Dental Medicine. Throughout his dental career, Dr. Velastegui has made it a priority to provide dental care to patients in underserved populations. He has enjoyed traveling to Honduras, Guatemala and Mexico on dental service trips, and has participated in many different community service programs in Connecticut.
Dr. Velastegui is interested in all aspects of patient care and is committed to continuing his education throughout his professional career. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry and the Massachusetts Dental Society. In his free time, Dr. Velastegui enjoys sculpting and traveling with his wife, who is also a dentist.
