\n But it can be hard sometimes to convince your kids to eat right, exercise, do their homework\u2026and brush and floss daily!<\/em><\/p>\n

Remember: Your kids are watching you\u2026so if you have good dental habits, they will copy you. Setting a good example teaches your kids that oral hygiene is important to you and that it should be important to them.<\/p>\n

\"Good<\/a>Walk The Talk:<\/strong>
\n\u2022 Eat healthy foods as a family, and avoid sugary beverages, sweets and carbohydrates that can damage tooth enamel and promote the growth of bacteria.
\n\u2022 Your kids should see you make time for dentist appointments.
\n\u2022 Let your kids see you brushing and flossing or, better yet, do it together.<\/p>\n

Teach, Teach, Teach:<\/strong>
\nIt\u2019s true. People are more likely to do something if they understand why they need to do it. This also holds true for kids. Find a book or a movie that teaches your kids about oral hygiene in an educational, fun way. If your kids still need convincing, get a dissolving chewable tablet from your dentist or pharmacy that sticks to the plaque on your kids\u2019 teeth. Make It Fun:<\/strong>
\nCould your kids avoid brushing and flossing because it is boring? Try to find ways to get them excited and involved.
\n\u2022 Make a chart and give your kids a sticker or star every time they brush and floss.
\n\u2022 Reward them for their efforts (but not with sweets!)
\n\u2022 Play or sing a song while your kids brush their teeth\u2026tell them they can\u2019t stop brushing until the song is over.
\n\u2022 Let your kids choose their own toothpaste, toothbrushes and floss.<\/p>\n
